The second competition day of the 2019 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Decize, France, brought junior and U23 races. In the seven events that were held today gold medals went to Hungary, Denmark, Ukraine and France.

Their teammates Csenge Kulcsar and Viktoria Pardi were second in this event and Slovakian duo Katarina Pecsukova – Karolina Seregiova picked up bronze medal.
The fastest canoeist in men’s U23 event was Denys Davydov from Ukraine. He did not expect to win the European Champion title, “It was very hard. I did not expect to win the gold medal. In women’s U23 kayak race it was a win for Hungarian paddler Lili Katona. “I really enjoyed the race. First, I have to thank Elio for giving me beautiful boat and it was amazing. I wanted to have a fast start and I managed to do that. I wanted to win, this was my dream,” said the new European Champion after the race. Irati Osa from Spain finished second, only 0.76 seconds behind. Teresa Isotta from Italy was third.

In the last race of the day – men’s K1 U23 event – Danish kayakers Mads Pedersen and Thorbjorn Rask celebrated a double win. Adriano Conceicao from Portugal was third.
