Nós flutuamos um pouco durante a noite e gastamos uma parte boa da manhã velejando. Durante esse tempo, eu estava de pé no convés, examinando a superfície da água em busca de plástico. A cada 15 minutos eu via uma nova peça.
Foi um dia para o caiaque novamente. Tudo começou com Yoav andando comigo. Ty estava encarregado de Seeker. Após cerca de 5 horas, Maria assumiu o trabalho de Yoav e estava remando para me levar na direção certa. Estávamos progredindo para o noroeste, quando o Kuroshio havia mudado de sua direção mais oriental.

Maria estava muito determinada a pegar cada pedaço de plástico que viu na água. Seu entusiasmo foi bastante notável, ela até caiu na água enquanto colecionava um de seus tesouros!

[DAY 37] Spotting plastic
THELONGESTSWIM
We drifted quite a bit over the night and had we spent a good part of the morning sailing and motoring back to the way point. During that time I was standing on deck scouting the surface of the water for plastic. About every 15 minutes I spotted a new piece.
It was a day for the kayak again. It started with Yoav pacing me. Ty was in charge of Seeker. After about 5 hours Maria took over Yoav’s job and was paddling to lead me in the right direction. We were progressing north west as the Kuroshio had changed from its more eastern direction.
Maria was very determined to pick up every piece of plastic she saw in the water. Her enthusiasm was pretty remarkable, she even fell in the water while collecting one of her treasure pieces!
