Na véspera da celebração oficial do 110º aniversário da FINA e da inauguração da sede da FINA em Lausanne (SUI), o Bureau da FINA realizou sua primeira reunião de 2018 em 18 de julho.

Dirigindo-se aos membros da Mesa no início da reunião, o Presidente da FINA, Dr. Julio C. Maglione, declarou:

“Chegamos a esse estágio em uma situação muito saudável e positiva,tanto em termos da importância dos esportes aquáticos no movimento esportivo internacional quanto em relação à sustentabilidade econômica da FINA.Em um momento de celebração, é importante lembrar que a FINA existe para servir principalmente seus 209 órgãos nacionais em todo o mundo. Somos uma grande família aquática e juntos estamos dando os passos necessários e trabalhando duro para tornar nosso esporte mais reconhecido e mais popular em escala global.”

Os destaques da reunião incluíram:
Aprovação das Demonstrações Financeiras da FINA para 2017, validadas pelo auditor externo (PricewaterhouseCoopers) e pelo Comitê de Auditoria da FINA;
Nomeação da empresa Ernst e Young como Chefe de Auditoria Interna, conforme a Regra C 25.4 e C 25.5 da FINA.
Adoção do Plano Estratégico da FINA para o período 2018-2021;
Nomeações: Sr. Zouheir El Moufti, como novo contato da Repartição do Comitê Técnico de Natação em Águas Abertas da FINA;Sr. Siarhei Khazempa (BLR) como novo membro do Comitê Técnico de Natação da FINA (substituto);
Sr. Don Cameron (AUS), como novo membro do Comitê Técnico da Pólo Aquático da FINA (substituto);
Atualização das Regras do BL sobre Pólo Aquático (Sorteio para o Torneio de Qualificação dos Jogos Olímpicos);
Aprovação de apoio financeiro para todas as equipes participantes das ligas mundiais de pólo aquático da FINA 2019;
Aprovação da distribuição do prêmio em dinheiro para as ligas mundiais de pólo aquático da FINA 2019;
Informações sobre o estudo realizado pela Universidade de Indiana (EUA) sobre o limite inferior de temperatura da água para eventos de Open Water Swimming;
O Bureau aprovou o calendário para a edição de 2019 do World Series of Diving e do Grand Prix de Mergulho;
Aprovação de um “FINA Gala Water Show” para concluir o programa de Natação Artística nos Campeonatos Mundiais da FINA;
Validação do cronograma para o Campeonato Mundial de Masters FINA de 2019 em Gwangju (KOR). A competição será realizada de 5 a 18 de agosto
Actualização dos últimos projectos incluídos no Programa de Desenvolvimento da FINA, nomeadamente o “Programa de Apoio Aquático Olímpico”e a Plataforma de E-Learning;
Confirmação da licitação para os Campeonatos FINA de Natação Artística da Era de 2019 para a cidade de Samorin (SVK);
o Campeonato Mundial da FINA em Gwangju (KOR) em julho de 2019; os Jogos Olímpicos de Tóquio 2020; e os Jogos Olímpicos de Paris 2024. Aspectos relacionados com os locais, plano de transporte, acomodação e cronograma de competição foram mencionados nestas apresentações. Em Tóquio 2020,
Adoção de uma política da FINA em relação à boa governança e protocolo.

FINA Bureau meeting – 18 July 2018
On the eve of the official celebration of FINA’s 110th anniversary and the inauguration of the FINA Headquarters in Lausanne (SUI), the FINA Bureau held its first 2018 meeting on July 18.

Addressing the members of the Bureau at the start of the meeting, FINA President Dr Julio C. Maglione declared:

“We arrived at this stage in a very healthy and positive situation, both in terms of the importance of Aquatics in the international sports movement and regarding FINA’s economical sustainability. In a time of celebration, it is important to recall that FINA exists to primarily serve its 209 National bodies around the world. We are a big aquatic family and together we are making the necessary steps and hard work to make our Sport more recognised and more popular on a global scale.”

The highlights of the meeting included:
Approval of the FINA Financial Statements for 2017, validated by the external auditor (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and the FINA Audit Committee;
Nomination of the company Ernst and Young as a Chief Internal Audit Officer, as per FINA Constitution Rule C 25.4 and C 25.5;
Adoption of the FINA Strategic Plan for the period 2018-2021;
Nominations: Mr Zouheir El Moufti, as the new Bureau Liaison for the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee; Mr Siarhei Khazempa (BLR) as new FINA Technical Swimming Committee Member (replacement);
Mr Don Cameron (AUS), as new FINA Technical Water Polo Committee Member (replacement);
Update on BL Rules concerning Water Polo (Draw for the Olympic Games Qualification Tournament);
Approval of financial support for all teams participating at the FINA Water Polo World Leagues 2019;
Approval of prize money distribution for the FINA Water Polo World Leagues 2019;
Information on the study conducted by the Indiana University (USA) concerning the lower water temperature limit for Open Water Swimming events;
The Bureau approved the calendar for the 2019 Diving World Series and Diving Grand Prix;
Approval of a “FINA Gala Water Show” to conclude the programme of Artistic Swimming at the FINA World Championships;
Validation of the schedule for the 2019 FINA World Masters Championships in Gwangju (KOR). The competition will be held from August 5-18, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for August 11;
Update on the latest projects included in the FINA Development Programme, namely the “Olympic Aquatic Support Programme” and the E-Learning Platform;
Confirmation of the bid for the FINA Artistic Swimming Age Group Championships 2019 to the city of Samorin (SVK);
Updates on the upcoming major competitions, including the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) in Hangzhou (CHN) in December 2018; the FINA World Championships in Gwangju (KOR) in July 2019; the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games; and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Aspects related with the venues, transportation plan, accommodation and competition schedule were mentioned in these presentations. On Tokyo 2020, FINA agreed with conducting the Swimming finals in the morning;
Adoption of a FINA policy regarding good governance and protocol.
